Background

Hannah Knorr’s early training began at Dayton Ballet under Dermot & Karen Russo Burke before graduating and attending the University of Oklahoma on scholarship as a ballet performance major. It was in college that Knorr’s choreographic journey began. Upon graduating from the University of Oklahoma, she spent the following seasons performing in companies including Fort Wayne Ballet, Ballet North Texas, and Texture Contemporary Ballet.

Since graduating, Knorr has created 3 world premieres; “Mirrors Where She Lies” for Confluence Ballet, “Currents” for DeCruz Ballet and their 2022 tour to Costa Rica, and a new work for Ballet North Texas which will hold its premiere in February 2023. In 2021, Knorr received 3rd place in the SALT Choreographic Competition for her piece, “Relinquish”.

Alongside choreographing for both pre-professional dance programs and professional ballet companies, Hannah Knorr is an instructor at DeCruz Ballet in San Antonio, TX teaching ballet, pointe, contemporary, and Pilates with PNB’s retried principal dancers Lindsi Dec & Karel Cruz. Knorr also runs the social media and is administrative assistant for DeCruz Ballet.

Hannah has been working as a private Pilates instructor, helping dancers across the country become stronger and less prone to injury!
